Welcome,

I am Elizabeth M. Gales, an author and illustrator currently living in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After spending the last twenty years working with seniors, creating programs and day-to-day activities that utilized art, music, and dance, I decided to retire early to give myself the opportunity to work on projects that have been on the back burner for far too long. My first children’s book, “Orange Kitty and the Mouse Parade,” is set to be released December 1st, 2022.

I have taken many workshops through community college, the University of British Columbia, and was accepted into the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, almost completing my first year there before life sent me in another direction. After my move to Nova Scotia, workshops offered by SCBWI and the Nova Scotia Writers Society helped me continue my artist journey.

My illustrations utilize pen and ink, watercolor, and acrylic as well as digital art.
